Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Publicity and Promotion (P2) will position GLRF externally, in the gay and lesbian community, in the world of rowing, and at the national and international sports level. In the short term, the focus will be on increasing awareness of GLRF among rowers worldwide.
The public relations duties will involve preparing press releases, placing articles in magazines and newspapers, answering questions from the press, and buying ad space in various sports programmes, conference brochures, and assorted media publications.
The promotional responsibilities will focus on increasing the awareness of the GLRF through socials, gay pride events, booths at conferences and regattas, and the City Launch Series. The Director of P2 will work closely individual coordinators on these events, and with the Director of Development to maximize the use of sponsorship materials, brochures, and the targeting of a segment of the rowing population.
GLRF seeks an individual with significant experience in publicity, public relations, and/or marketing.
