Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Development will sustain the GLRF business model through three main areas of funding: memberships, non-profit agency status, and sponsors. The most immediate task will be to develop a large membership base through a compelling members-only program on the GLRF website.
The Director of Development will oversee the Membership Program and work closely with the Directors of P2 and the Manager of Website Services to promote membership subscriptions.
The Director of Development will steer and leverage the GLRF non-profit agency status. The focus will be at two levels: charity gifting programs and donations and bequests. He/she will work with the Manager of Corporate Affairs and Financial Affairs to ensure GLRF’s eligibility for national charitable gifting programs such as the United Way, CFC, as well as various sports foundations. GLRF will also need to create an active program for direct donations and bequests.
As the membership base grows, GLRF will have exposure at regattas, gay pride events, and conferences. The Director of Development will coordinate sponsorship opportunities and establish alliances with other organizations to create joint fundraising events.
GLRF seeks an individual with a background in fundraising, development, or sales. This position requires a base in the United States. If interested, please contact Brian Todd at execdir@glrf.info.
