Recruiting in the Gay and Lesbian Community
No single event can capture a larger segment of the gay and lesbian community in one place and at one time than at a gay pride event.
Depending on your community, this may be the single best place to promote rowing in the gay and lesbian community and to create awareness about a gay and lesbian rowing club. After being involved in several gay pride events, we have an idea of what works and what doesn’t.
Booths at gay pride events can be very expensive
Co-location is important
Sometimes a huge festival is the wrong place
Capturing the booth visitor is key
Displays are important but people are better
An erg really helps
A t-shirt with a catchy logo and a cool look will sell and advertise!
If you’re a gay or even a straight club, or just a group of gay rowers looking to put up a booth at a gay pride event, let us help. Our banner is like a magnet to draw people to your booth and then you can tell them about rowing in your area. Want to borrow it? Email us at p2dir(at)glrf.info We also have:
