Ring in the mid-Atlantic sprint season with a day of exciting competition at our new boathouse on the Anacostia River. Regatta · 0 members going · 0 followingRowers are invited to compete in a friendly and informal head-style relay, otherwise known as a stake race (régate au piquet). The race will take the form of a 3,000 meter head race along a 1,500 meter course. Boats will turn around a buoy at the far end of the basin and race back to the starting line. One category of competition will be offered: 4x+. Rowers will gather at 09:00h. for lineups and a coxswain meeting. Racing will follow. Results will be posted at 13:00h. A picnic, organized by the gay sailing club, Voile et Croisière en Liberté , will follow the race at 1300h at the basin. Spectators will have access to the large, sunny deck at the boathouse to soak in the rays and watch the race. There is no charge to watch the race.Registration Closed -

Regatta · 1 member going · 3 followingThe rowing competition will be held at the new world class rowing venue at Ile-de Vaires-Torcy, forty kilometers from Paris. The regatta will offer open categories for ages 18 - 26 and masters categories for ages 27 +. As of 15 June 2017, registration has not been opened. Word on the dock is that it should open in the next 2 - 4 weeks. More information on boat rentals will be forthcoming. One boat manufacturer is already tapped to provide boat rentals. -

The event was sanctioned and calendared by FISA and feature FISA certified judges. The event was run on the FISA World Masters template. The course was 1,000 meters, offered six fully buoyed lanes and all races were handheld starts. The event was organized by the Outgames Regatta Organising Committee with support from Rowing Canada, Aviron Québec, the Montreal Rowing Club (MRC), and Odawagan, the GLBT rowing crew of MRC. Competition was open to men and women, age 18 - 99. Race events were held for single sex boats and mixed boats. There were no adaptive entries. Boat rentals were available and featured race-competitive quality boats. The regatta had a total of 304 participants.Registration Closed
