Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation Privacy Policies

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available in our footer and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

Every user is identified online by their chosen username during registration.

The email privacy of every member of the Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation community is essential.

·         Your email address is never visible to guests or other online users. 

·         All communications between users is facilitated by the community platform messaging system which uses usernames. Your email address is never involved

·         You should never share your email address with other online users.

·         Email notifications are one-way from the GLRF community platform to each user.  The GLRF email notifications will indicate if new content has posted in an area you are following or if you have received a message. You must login to the GLRF community platform to read the message or view the content. 

Your GLRF Online Profile is visible (by clicking on your username) to other GLRF online (logged in) users but not to guests or anyone offline.  The following items are visible in the profile:

·         Age (in years, not your birthdate; you can see your own birthdate)

·         Gender Identity

·         Country

·         Region

·         Metroarea

·         City

·         What users are following you (can be disabled by user)

·         Your rowing status profiles, if completed:

o   Boat rowing status

o   Indoor rower status

o   Coxie status

o   Coach status

o   Race/Regatta Official status.

·         The following content areas if you are active online and have posted or uploaded content:

o   Your community activity

o   The Groups to which you belong

o   The Gallery albums you have created

o   The images you have uploaded

o   The users you are following

o   The links you have favorited.

Anytime you upload or post content, that content will be attributed to you with your username.

The Find A Member function is only available to OnTheWater members.  This service allows a user to see user profiles based on a search of a country region and/or a country metroarea, and can be refined further to search for rowing status profiles.

Log files are maintained and analyzed for many user actions’ on the community platform: messaging, image uploads, topic and content posting. Log files do not capture personal information but do capture the user's IP address, which is automatically recognised by our web servers.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
