Similar to our previous sub-forum, we will be creating topics by country to show the place finish of that country's boat in that made it to the finals. For 2016, we will list both the countries' place finish and the time out of first. Essentially we are disregarding Final A, B, C, D ... etc and simply listing the overall place, be it 5th or 19th. The first country topics to be added will be on 10 August 2016, with the first set of finals. As more countries compete in the finals, we will add more country topics.

Why are we doing this? In our eyes, everyone going to the Olympics is already a winner, and we just want to show how close they were to being first across the line.

For the 2016 Olympics, the Rio Rowing Committee or the Rio Olympic Organizing committee has chosen not to publish the event schedule in a bar graph style. It's too bad - the 2012 Olympic graphic was really helpful.

  • 06 Aug 2016: heats
  • 07 Aug 2016: heats and repechages
  • 08 Aug 2016: heats, repechages, and semifinals
  • 09 Aug 2016: quarterfinals and semifinals
  • 10 Aug 2016: semifinals, repechages, and finals
  • 11 Aug 2016: semifinals and finals
  • 12 Aug 2016: finals
  • 13 Aug 2016: finals

Feel free to reply to this topic and any of the country topic with your thoughts on that countries' performance for one of the listed events.
