TRT-Hazewinkel was established in 29 May 1975, following the construction of the Olympic rowing course, Empire Watersportcentrum Hazewinkel, in Belgium that opened in 29 May 1975
The club is at its heart, dedicated to athleticism, and in particular, the development and practice of rowing, canoe, and kayak. The club offers recreational, juniors, and masters programmes.
