The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) oversees all official competitive sports in all colleges and universities in the United States.
When we say 'official,', the NCAA rules do not apply to university "club" rowing programs. Those are unofficial programs that do not receive any funding from the NCAA.
If you row for an official NCAA sport at a college or university, you are subject to various rules.
