The Program

Has winter training gone on long enough? Are you ready to get back on the water? Do you find yourself looking out the window every five minutes to see if the ice has melted?

The Florida Rowing Center and GLRF are proud to announce a gay and lesbian spring sculling week. Come to Florida’s West Palm Beach and warm your soul while stretching for a clean catch on the pristine water of Lake Wellington. Enjoy three coached sessions per day and choose among three different programs: 7 day, 4 day, and 3 day.

Daily sessions are scheduled for 7:30, 11:00, and 15:30, and last for 90 minutes. The coaching staff are elite-qualified instructors with experience in coaching all levels of rowers. The sculler to coach ratio is never more than 5 to 1. Videotape analysis is provided in all session programs.

Each session program includes a daily breakfast, the use of boats, oars, three on the water sessions a day, and coaching. There are 20 spaces available for participants without boats,

Update 27 Mar 2006

This was our first year and the response was fairly tepid. Not sure if the reason was the price or the relatively late posting about the event. However, the facilities and the coaches are amazing.

Looking ahead to next year, GLRF might book the entire week, thereby securing much lower costs for the programs, and providing more inexpensive lodging.  It all depends on the level of interest
