Mark your calendars for Saturday, 26 May 2007 for the 3,000 meter relay rowing race at the Choisy-le-Roi rowing stadium just outside of Paris. GLRF is proud to welcome the newest country to our worldwide rowing community: Qatar. A rower from Doha registered and sent an email to tell us he was competing at the 15th Asian Games in December. The registration marked the first member from the African continent, thereby giving GLRF a presence on 6 continents.

All European GLRF rowers are invited to gather in Madrid for a Saturday morning fun row and some great Spanish hospitality. GLRF will be attending the annual meeting of the European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation 02 – 04 Mar 2007. Last year, GLRF attended the same meeting in Budapest and subsequently saw the membership expand to Hungary, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. See the March 2007 Calendar post.

Membership registrations from the United Kingdom continue to climb and in December, the UK assumed the rank of the second largest GLRF membership, by country, at 7.3% To our talented rowing sisters and brethren in the British Isles, keep spreading the word!
