In Boston: primi pasta y secondi mojitos!

For all rowers who are Boston bound for the upcoming Head of the Charles regatta, please join GLRF at the Friday Night Pasta Party at the Head of the Charles Expo Tent. It’s free for all registered competitors and $10 for spectators and friends. The Virgin Atlantic Row Jet Set, Row sprints will take place in front of the dining area. On Saturday night, please join the Boston Bay Blades for their rowers social. A $5 donation is requested. Stop by the GLRF booth for a map.

Smile, you’re on GLRF camera

Check out the new Community Camera web page. We have provided a summary of links to all the photo albums on the GLRF website, and you can check out the new community photo pool where rowers can post and share their favorite pics.

The Head of the Hooch

GLRF will host a booth at the Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, Tennessee in November. Stop by and say hello, and if you’re so inclined, we would love some extra help at the booth. We’re exploring the idea of putting together a social but Atlanta is about an hour and a half from Chattanooga so it makes it kind of tough. Check the GLRF Atlanta page for updates.

How fabulous – social bookmarking

It may sound like some kind of unpleasant infection but actually it is a great way to build our worldwide community by sharing bookmarks online. We are transferring all of the GLRF links onto the del.icio.us website and assigning categories according to rowers’ interests and geographic areas. Look for them to appear on the Global Rower pages, the COMMUNITIES pages, and the Rowing Links page. Have something to add? Let us know!

Share your thoughts about Chicago and Montreal

There are feedback forums on the GLRF ALL OARS message board for both the Chicago and Montreal regattas. Got a critique or something you liked? Post a comment. The GLRF Regatta Advisory Group will use your input to provide recommendations for future gay and lesbian sponsored regattas.

Feast your eyes on the Femmes Fatales

GLRF placed a full-page ad in the current issue of Rowing News, to thank Sykes Boats for their support of the Montreal Boat Rental program. Featured in the ad were two of the San Francisco Femmes Fatales. The picture was taken by GLRF member Jens S. from Berlin. You can see more of his pics from the links on the GLRF 2006 World Outgames page.
