GLRF forms partnership with here!Films
GLRF joined forces with here!Films to release the German rowing film Summer Storm in the United States. The movie opened in select US cities on 17 March and will continue in theaters through June 2006. The real life Berlin rowing group, queerSchlag, plays a central role in the movies’ storyline. GLRF bracelet debuts at the Crew Classic
We sold 120 bracelets in two days at the GLRF booth in San Diego. Visitors reacted with “oohs and aahs” at the red, blue, and grey swirl-style, with white embossed letters. These silicone wrist bracelets are all the rage, with many people wearing two or more. They come in various colors but unless you know the charity or the cause, you really don’t know the significance. Not anymore. Wear the GLRF bracelet and you’ll be talking rowing in no time. Get one free with a GLRF OnTheWater membership upgrade or renewal.
Stonewall Regatta XIII: registration is open
The thirteenth annual Stonewall Regatta will welcome rowers to the Anacostia River in Washington DC on 03 June. All rowers are invited to participate. Four categories are available: eights, fours/quads, doubles, and singles. It’s the perfect season opener. See you there!
Boosting GLRF visibility in Europe
GLRF attended the European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation (EGLSF) Annual General Assembly in Budapest, Hungary the weekend of 03 – 05 March. We provided presentation folders to all the attending sports clubs and teams, and asked that they add a link on their websites. We now have links in Bulgaria, Romania, Spain, and Austria that we know of so far. Read the news item.
