In a first for gay and lesbian rowing, the Montreal 2006 Outgames Regatta will be sanctioned and officially calendared by FISA. This makes the regatta a FISA recognized event. Online registration will be available almost any day now. They are doing some last minute tweaks to the system. See the press release for FULL DETAILS.

It finally made it. The $2.8US million Peter Jay Sharpe floating boathouse is now moored on the Harlem River in New York City. Learn to row classes are already underway. Six community groups are scheduled to use the facility including a gay and lesbian rowing club. The club’s name is still in discussion. See the full news stories.
