  2. The Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation is excited to unveil the new Rainbow Logo Challenge application, appropriately on the start of June Pride month and with the launch of the 2025 Rainbow Logo Challenge. The application is the final part of the launch of GLRF Version 2.0. The premise of the Rainbow Logo Challenge is for organizations to incorporate rainbow colors in their social media and website logos. The application displays each entry along with those media sites that feature an organization’s rainbow-colored logos. Both GLRF members and guests can now directly submit entries for the Rainbow Logo Challenge, which facilitates the uploading of rainbow logos directly from clubs, programmes, organizations, and businesses. This means the logos are the actual image instead of some version of right click and save. As an international organization, the Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation recognizes that some countries celebrate Pride month during months other than June: Deutschland, Danmark, Nederland, to name a few. For that reason, we included a month selection feature for each challenge entry, and we also featured a field to allow for the local spelling of the month name. We feel this allows for increased inclusivity, and a recognition that each of our rowing communities and global Pride month celebrations are unique. The application now displays all challenge entries by year and presents a compelling list of clubs, organizations, and businesses that actively support the LGBTQ rowing community. With the introduction of the optional month selection, the Rainbow Logo Challenge now becomes a year-long engagement, providing more sustained visibility and support for the LGBTQ+ community within the rowing world. It acknowledges the diversity of Pride month celebrations globally. We believe this new application is a positive change that can expand the reach and impact of the Rainbow Logo Challenge initiative

  4. @markwnlYou shouldn't be. The rowing contact I emailed said the Eurogames registration must close on 22 June and I told the contact that rowers tend to register late. I'm not sure if the rowing regatta is capped at a certain number of people. If that is true, then yes, you might be too late. Given how rowing is generally subscribed, I can't imagine that it would be capped.

    2025 Rainbow Logo Challenge

The 2025 Rainbow Logo Challenge is an opportunity for rowing clubs, programmes, organizations, and business to signal their support for the LGBTQ rowing community by incorporating rainbow colors in their social media and website logos. The challenge is held in conjunction with a given country’s recognized Pride month. This is a time when the LGBTQ+ community celebrates their diversity and affirms their pride in who they are. The presence of rainbow logos in social media has a profound impact within the rowing community. Every social view of a rainbow logo, be it on Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, and Threads, sends a message to the broader community that an organization values and supports the LGBTQ+ community. Even more importantly, when an individual sees a rainbow logo, he/she/they instantly feel a sense of reassurance and welcome in that place of business or organization. Challenge participation involves modifying an organization’s website and social media logos to include rainbow colors and featuring those logos for the entire month. We are excited to unveil the new Rainbow Logo Challenge page where both members and guests can submit their challenge entries. An entry involves an organization name; the country and it’s recognized pride month. In recognition of the global rowing community, we encourage entries to feature the local language spelling of the pride month. Every entry must feature at least one website or social media site with a rainbow logo. To showcase the presence of the rainbow logos, we kindly ask you to only add those sites that feature the rainbow-infused logo. All entries will be featured on the Rainbow Logo Challenge page. Although the Challenge extends throughout a country’s Pride month, the displayed entries serve as a year-long testament to the LGBTQ+ rowing community that they are welcome and accepted. An organization’s participation also makes a statement that inclusion and acceptance are important core values. The Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation challenges rowing national governing bodies, rowing clubs and programmes, and rowing related businesses to step up. This isn’t about politics. It is about putting rowers, coxies, coaches, and race/regatta officials first, individuals who participate in the rowing community every day.

I rowed for two years at university and erg a lot in the gym these days. Thanks in advance for your help. Kind regards, John

  20. Great article that promotes the benefit of erg workouts and, one would think, on the water rowing.
  21. GLRF OnTheWater members can use the search bar in the header to search for a regatta name. All GLRF members can use the 'Filter By' button to search by tags and by country. The tag list is extensive and includes tags like stonewall, eurogames, gaygames, outgames, The 'Filter By' button allows a user to search by one or more countries as well as tags to develop a curated listings list.
  22. Currently, Seat Search entries will be retained to show the functionality. In the future, Seat Search entries may be removed following the end of the listing date. Truthfully, an expired Seat Search entry has no function.
  23. If a listing has various content added to the listing, it will be retained. Examples could be images or files, members going, and comments. A listing that has been added but has no content for up to three months after the ending date of the listing will be removed.
  24. Any GLRF member can add a listing. Theoretically, a GLRF Poland member could add the Head of Yarra, an Australian head race held every November. Because the listing is designed to be collaborative, other GLRF members can make edits to any listings in case there the information needs to be updated or clarified. Visitors can peruse any Regattas+ listing but only GLRF members can add a listing, add comments, follow the listing, indicate if they are going, add images, and add a Seat Search.

    What is Regattas+?

Regattas+ combines what was previously just a calendar event or a group in the GLRF groups section into a LGBTQ community hub that wraps around any regatta, ergatta, or camp/clinic. A Regattas+ listing creates a virtual meet up for GLRF members participating and/or attending the competition.
